The enchanting Kayangan Lake, which is located in the interior of Coron Island, is said to be the cleanest lake in the Philippines. To get to Kayangan Lake, tourists have to climb a steep mountain trail.
Kayangan Lake is only one of the 13 lakes in Coron Islands. Presently, only the Kayangan Lake is open to the public, the rest are closed to tourists (and even to locals) as the Tagbanuas, the tribe which owns the island, deem the lakes sacred for being the home of their gods. The 12 other lakes according to the locals who were fortunate see them are said to be far more beautiful, enchanting and magical than the Kayangan Lake.
